I thought to myself, how hard can it be?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Around 15 minutes into the climbing, I started questioning everything I knew about via ferratas. This route is no joke. Both routes are open to the public. However, guided tours get priority. Self-guided groups can book a limited number of slots daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have your equipment, you can go without a guide. ferrata, put on your equipment and prepare for one of the most exhilarating experiences of your life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route will test your patience and ability to stay calm and not panic when you reach an overhang. You will have to figure out how to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am not scared of heights, but I did experience slight vertigo a few times when I looked down. The constant thought lurking in my head, thinking about the consequence of a potential fall, didn&#8217;t want to leave me through the entire trail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The route is easy to follow and has plenty of metal roads, pegs, and intermittent cables to keep you safe. Benches are also built on more manageable sections, where you can rest well and enjoy the views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you reach the wire bridge, you are nearing the end of the route. Balancing on the wire bridge when your heart pumps 150 beats per minute is a serious undertaking. At the moment, they are my go-to hiking shoes, and I love them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clothing <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Wear trousers that don&#8217;t restrict movement, like the La Sportiva Tundra climbing trousers. I also recommend wearing full-length trousers instead of shorts to avoid cuts and scratches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For my upper body, I favour Merino-wool t-shirts like the Icebreaker Sphere. Always carry warm layers with you. While the guided tours take 5-6 hours to complete via ferrata Romsdalsstigen, it took us 4, with plenty of photo stops. If you rented the gear, make sure to come back in time to return it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hike down if you want to save money.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The gondola ride isn&#8217;t cheap and costs 360 NOK one way. If you want to save money, you can hike from the gondola station to \u00c5ndalsnes. This will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. You will pass the famous Rampestreken viewpoint along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s not the most enjoyable hike. It&#8217;s pretty steep with plenty of roots, and it gets very slippery when wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Where_to_stay_around_Andalsnes\"><\/span><strong>Where to stay around \u00c5ndalsnes&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c5ndalsness is the home of via ferrata Romsdalstigen.
