gb-container-67e926eb\">\n\n<p>Lake Coldai is a small, high alpine lake located in the Civetta group in the Italian Dolomites. The lake has beautiful turquoise colours that contrast nicely with the Dolomiti rock. The mountain that reflects on its surface is none other than Monte Civetta. At 3220 meters, it is the 8th highest peak in the Dolomites. Its 1000-meter north cliff attracts famous climbers from all over the World. Alleghe<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-5f1c8c7b\">\n\n<p>To reach the trailhead of the Lake Coldai hike, you must take the two-tier gondola called Pian di Pezz\u00e8\u2014Col Dei Baldi. The gondola starts in Alleghe, one of <a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/best-places-to-visit-in-the-italian-dolomites\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"630\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my favourite Dolomiti towns<\/a>. During summer, the gondola runs from the third week of June until the third week of September. You can check the exact times here. The town is small so that you can walk to the gondola station.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-defae52a\">\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-89b058e0\">\n\n<h4 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-30c206c4 gb-headline-text\">By bus<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can reach Alleghe by public transport. A company called Dolomiti bus covers this route. It&#8217;s also possible to stay here overnight. <strong>Rifugio Coldai<\/strong> lies on the official <a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/alta-via-one-guide-part-one\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"623\">Alta Via 1<\/a> traverse. It is a busy hut, and it books out far in advance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also extend the hike from the lake uphill to <strong>Rifugio Tissi<\/strong>. This is a slightly quieter refuge, and it has fantastic views of the North face of Mount Civetta. If you want to experience an incredible sunset in the Dolomites, consider staying here overnight.
