seven&nbsp;will take you from&nbsp;Passo San Pellegrino&nbsp;to Passo Valles across ski pistes, which are sometimes hard to navigate due to a lack of markings. I remember taking out my GPS several times to double-check if we were on the right path.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After hiking for around one hour to your left, you will observe Lago di Cavia, a small high alpine lake. Soon after, you will reach Forcella di Pradazzo. Although challenging, with a few cable-protected sections, this part of Alta Via 2 and the three subsequent days are the most spectacular, thanks to the ruggedness of the Pale di San Martino range that you will be crossing.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Night 7: Rifugio Mulaz<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Alta-Via-2-Day-8-5-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7348\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Alta-Via-2-Day-8-5-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Alta-Via-2-Day-8-5-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Alta-Via-2-Day-8-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Alta-Via-2-Day-8-5.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Rifugio Mulaz<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\">, with its beautiful location near Cima del Focobon and Passo del Mulaz, is one of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/best-mountain-huts-in-the-italian-dolomites\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">my favourite huts in the Dolomites.<\/a>\u00a0We were lucky to be treated to flaming Creme Brules during our stay. However, the area becomes quiet as soon as the gondola stops operating for the day, and only the overnight guests remain in the hut.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many personal photographs of the hut&#8217;s owner adore the walls of the refuge, documenting his mountaineering accomplishments. Notice the hiking shoe hanging outside, ensuring that the door to the hut stays closed at all times. The need is the mother of invention, after all.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-12603856599\">Extension: Monte Rosetta<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/201.jpg\" alt=\"Rifugio Rosetta at dusk from the summit of Mount Rosetta. Monte Civetta can be seen in the distance \" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A 40-minute uphill burst from the Rosetta hut will take you to the summit of Monte Rosetta. This is an excellent addition to the day, and I recommend doing it at sunset. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will most likely have the summit all to yourself. Still, you will also get an uninterrupted view of some of the Dolomites&#8217; most famous peaks: Antelao, Civetta, Sorapiss, Cristallo, and even Tre Cime! If you\u2019re surefooted and experienced on rocky terrain, putting on your via ferrata equipment isn\u2019t necessary, but it can&#8217;t hurt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eventually, you\u2019ll have worked up to Passo di Ball, the highest point between Rifugio Rosetta and Pradidali. Order a nice cup of hot chocolate and watch the sunset from the hut!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-12603856899\">Extension: Via Ferrata Porton And Sentiero Nico Gusela<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>This excellent 3-4 hour Alta Via 2 extension starts and ends at Rifugio Pradidali and takes you in a\u00a0circle connecting two via ferratas: Porton and Sentiero Nico Gusela. The loop&#8217;s total distance and elevation gain are 10 km (6.2 mi) and 674 meters (2200 feet), respectively.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery alignwide has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" cables lead up to the pass, which is much more complicated than the protected sections earlier in the day. Although they might slow you down, they should pose no real difficulty. At a decent pace, it\u2019s just over an hour to pass.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the pass, you\u2019ll lose a knee-busting, quad-trembling 1300m of elevation down the steep slopes of Vallon delle Lede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scenic Bivacco C. Minazio marks the halfway point of the descent and is an excellent place for a sandwich break or to hide from the sun. The route then relentlessly carries on downhill on path 711A until you reach the banks of the river Canali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The river&#8217;s sight, sound, and smell are very refreshing after the long descent battle.\u00a0After\u00a0crossing the river, the path follows switchbacks for 25 minutes before reaching Rifugio Treviso.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Night 10: Rifugio Treviso<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tucked away in a forest, rifugio Treviso is a very welcomed sight after the downhill battle from Passo delle Lede. Whilst it wasn&#8217;t my favourite refuge along the way, there isn&#8217;t an alternative that doesn&#8217;t involve descending further down the path, only to return the same way the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-12439282199\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Day_11_Rifugio_Treviso_to_Rifugio_Passo_Cereda\"><\/span>Day 11: Rifugio Treviso to Rifugio Passo Cereda<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Distance:<\/strong> 11.5 km \/ 7.15 mi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Walking time:<\/strong> 4h<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Elevation gain:<\/strong> 790 \/ 2592 ft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Elevation loss: <\/strong>1050 \/ 3445 ft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Path number: <\/strong>718<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/230.jpg\" alt=\"Hiking beneath Cima D&#039;Oltro. It passes through a scenic sparse forest for around 45 minutes before a left turn turns the trail into a series of switchbacks in an exposed wide gully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, it\u2019s west-facing, so you won\u2019t be blasted by the morning sun on your ascent. Route finding is sometimes tricky and sometimes stressful but always achievable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that heading downhill, on a path or not, will eventually bring you onto a private road, where a right turn will take you to Passo Cereda and the refuge of the same name.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rifugio Passo Cereda<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Rifugio Passo Cereda is more of a hotel than a refuge. Run by an Italian family, it offers excellent service and food at very affordable prices. If you have made it this far, you can&nbsp;make it to the end!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, you will enter the rugged Dolomiti Bellunesi Park and meet the Cim\u00f3nega group. Pathwise, there is only one number left to remember\u2014801. Around 3\/4 of the way up, there is a great rocky outcrop with a jaw-dropping vista of the Sarzana Valley (photo above).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After reaching the Comedon saddle, a sharp drop takes you into Val Canzoi, home to the high-alpine Bivouac Feltre Bodo, a great place to stop and rest.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will then circle the southeastern flanks of Sass de Mur and head towards Passo de Mura, from where you will get the first glimpse of Rifugio Boz.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Night 12: Rifugio Boz<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though it was the start of August, the busiest time of the year in the Dolomites, rifugio Boz was quiet, and we were one of the few overnight guests. An hour and a half into the hike after leaving Rifugio Boz, we were engulfed in clouds and soon after a storm and pouring rain.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I guess it had to happen eventually, and I shouldn&#8217;t complain\u2014I had a pretty fantastic weather streak after all\u2014but deep down, I wish I hadn&#8217;t missed out on the views.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today&#8217;s stretch takes you first up to Passo di Finestra, reached ca. 40 minutes after leaving the hut. Then, it follows precarious ledges, steep zig-zag paths, and boulder fields under Monte Zoccare Alto and along the Sasso di Scarnia ridgeline. Alta Via 2 remains relentless until the very last day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those are the most challenging sections of today&#8217;s stage, and a few cable-aided passages are coming your way, where it might be a good idea to gear up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you reach the path under Monte Ramezza, the route is easy and follows a grassy crest, green slopes, and high alpine pastures for the next couple of hours. A couple hundred meters down from the path, we spotted an old farm, which, in heavy rain, we mistook for the hut. Rifugio Dal Piaz only comes into view after you cross Passo delle Vette! Longing for a proper bed, shower, and a meal that didn&#8217;t consist of pasta or polenta, we decided to push on after drying off a bit in the refuge and getting some lunch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lucky for us, the skies cleared, the sun came up, and suddenly, it became hot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the last 90 minutes from Rifugio Dal Piaz, follow an old military road to Passo Croce D&#8217;Aune. From here, you can catch the local bus to Feltre, where you can celebrate the completion of Alta Via 2. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\"
