The first is to rent a normal-sized vehicle and stay in hotels. The second is to rent a motorhome and stay at campsites.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both options have their pros and cons. On the first day, it\u2019s only a 90-minute drive to the Akaroa Peninsula which is liberally garnished with coastlines, lots of wildlife, and rolling hills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Things_to_do_in_Akaroa\"><\/span>Things to do in Akaroa<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are plenty of activities such as wine tasting, culinary feasts, day cruises, loads of hikes, and my favorite &#8211; wildlife watching. If you do decide to visit this point, please<strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do not interfere<\/span> <\/strong>with the penguin&#8217;s schedule and do not block their path just for a photo.
