Upon arriving at the Milford Sound Ferry Terminal, we were warmly greeted and given our lanyards that confirmed our participation in the overnight experience. After being ushered on board the vessel &#8211; the aptly named Fiordland Jewel,\u00a0we were personally introduced to every member of the boat&#8217;s crew<strong> from the porter to the captain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a quick, but essential, safety briefing we embarked on our sunset cruise on the Fjord. Day cruises are constantly boarding and departing, forming a continuous stream of boats. It was modern, clean and had everything we needed including USB docking stations, plug sockets, towels and toiletries. It was like a fancy hotel room but with much better views!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking about the views!\u00a0<strong>One huge window at the foot of the beds gave uninterrupted\u00a0vistas of wherever we were docked or sailing through.<\/strong>\u00a0Just imagine waking up to it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before dinner, we had the opportunity to go on a\u00a0<strong>sightseeing tour in the smaller boat or go kayaking as the sunset over the mountains.<\/strong>\u00a0I did both. I also captured some stunning images of Jack paddling away into the sunset. We were also free to go explore if we wanted some alone time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The brave ones could also choose&nbsp;to&nbsp;<strong>dive into the chilly water from the helipad!<\/strong>&nbsp;Interestingly when I jumped in, I expected to taste salt water but the fresh water from rivers and rain sits on top of the salt water! Vegetarian, vegan, lactose-free and all other dietary requirements can be catered for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a glass of wine enjoyed with good company,&nbsp;<strong>we spent the evening in the hot tub on the top deck,<\/strong>&nbsp;watching the stars turn slowly above our heads. Once the sun rose, breakfast was served. Eggs any style, bacon, toast, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee plus yoghurts and bottles of water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After our sunrise cruise, we started our return to the Milford Sound Ferry Terminal and arrived just as the first-day cruises were leaving. There was literally nothing I could complain about even if I wanted to.
