The photography spots here&nbsp;range from crystal blue lakes to towering mountains and pretty much everything in between.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have spent a fair share of my year in Canada exploring Jasper National Park. &nbsp;At one point I even considered moving here, but in the end, I settled for Canmore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As&nbsp;thorough as I was trying to be in this post, I have deliberately left out some of the photography locations on the Icefields Parkway, a big part of which lies within the boundaries of Jasper National Park, simply because I covered them in detail&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/icefields-parkway-travel-guide\/\">in a separate article<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are planning a&nbsp;holiday in Canada consider following my&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/canadian-rockies-2-weeks-road-trip-guide\/\">two-week road trip itinerary through the Canadian Rockies<\/a>. It offers great views of the adjacent Pyramid Mountain which is one of the most prominent eastern-facing topographical features of the area. The most popular&nbsp;view is along the walkway to Pyramid Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706444299\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Spirit_Island_and_Maligne_Lake\"><\/span>2. Unlike Pyramid Island, Spirit Island requires a bit of planning to get to especially if you want to photograph it at sunrise or sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a&nbsp;<strong>boat cruise<\/strong>, that runs multiple times throughout the day, but it&nbsp;<strong>operates outside of the ideal&nbsp;photography hours<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want the right conditions you may have to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/maligne-lake-paddle-trip-guide\/\">canoe 26 kilometres, like I did, and stay at the nearby Fisherman&#8217;s Bay campground overnight<\/a>. Fortunately for me, all the hard work paid off and I was treated to this unbelievable sunrise.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706443799\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Sulphur_Skyline_Summit\"><\/span>3. It starts at the Miette Hot Springs 44 km northeast of Jasper and offers 360\u00b0 panoramic mountain views along many ridgelines and into all the connecting valleys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you&#8217;re back down you can treat yourself to a dip in the&nbsp;<strong>Miette hot&nbsp;springs<\/strong>! This photo was taken from the summit looking northeast into&nbsp;the&nbsp;<strong>Fiddle River Valley<\/strong>&nbsp;shortly after sunrise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The view is certainly worth the effort. I can guarantee you that not many people will be able to sacrifice a few hours of their sleep to get to this photography spot for sunrise!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706443999\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Indian_Ridge_and_Whistlers_Peak\"><\/span>4. It&#8217;s also the starting point for the short hike to Whistler&#8217;s Peak or the more advanced&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/\">Indian Ridge Hike<\/a>, one of the best hikes in Jasper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a perfect photography spot for someone who wants to come home with some unique shots of the area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706450099\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Medicine_Lake\"><\/span>5. It&#8217;s a&nbsp;<strong>great sunset spot<\/strong>, where you can stop when&nbsp;driving back to Jasper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a few parking lots and viewpoints right next to the lake making it easy for anyone to look for a perfect composition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you drive this road in the summer, there&#8217;s also a&nbsp;<strong>very good chance that you&#8217;ll spot a few bears<\/strong>&nbsp;feeding on the side of the road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706450499\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Lakes_Annette_Edith_Beauvert\"><\/span>6. Lakes Annette, Edith &amp; Beauvert<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/inafarawayland.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2867.jpg\" alt=\"Lake Edith. Best photography locations in Jasper National Park\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Close to the centre of Jasper,&nbsp;<strong>lakes Annette, Edith and Beauvert<\/strong>&nbsp;make for some of the most accessible photography spots in Jasper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to their small size, you can easily walk around them, gazing at all the reflecting peaks that you&#8217;ll be treated to on a windless day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve found that&nbsp;<strong>Edith Lake is best for reflections of Mount Edith Cavell<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Lake Annette (photo above) is best for reflections of Pyramid Mountain<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This photo was taken during sunset, as the last light bounced off the haze that was created during some nearby wildfires. During the summer wild roses are a common sight on the shore.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706460899\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Edith_Cavell_Lake_and_Mountain\"><\/span>7. A story and some undeniably unique conditions&nbsp;are captured in the photo above when the light pierced the clouds overhead and created these epic rays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Ramparts<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; the mountain range seen in the picture marks part of the border between Alberta and British Columbia called&nbsp;<strong>the Great Divide.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11706461899\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"9_Athabasca_River\"><\/span>9. There are many points along the river where you can take great photos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of my favourites is the bridge at the turnoff towards Maligne Lake Road. The photograph you see above was&nbsp;taken south of the town near another bridge close to&nbsp;<strong>the valley of the Five Lakes trailhead.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cc-m-header-11801457099\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10_Mount_Christie\"><\/span>10. You can&#8217;t miss it!
