Of course, if you have never stepped onto a mountain trail, you will find it the opposite. The closest parking to the trailhead of the Monte Castellaz summit hike is near Malga Juribello. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When writing this post, the parking was free (2021); however, I have noticed that many parking locations across the Dolomites that were free just one or two years ago now collect charges. In the summer, buses operate between June and September\u2014bus no. However, you can still meet many hikers (including myself) on the trails in October. dirt road in the direction of Baita Segantini, with a few possibilities to cut across the fields to shorten the hike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" path R01 to Monte Castellaz\/Cristo Pensante. The mountain is very distinguishable and rises straight ahead of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will also be able to spot the descent path from the summit. You will go down that way after you reach the summit, but the ascent path is on the mountain&#8217;s eastern slopes, and you will first have to circle Monte Castelazz counterclockwise to reach it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just keep following the signs for Cristo Pensante and Monte Castellaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Monte Castellaz to Baita G. You should be back in less than 2 hours. However, I highly recommend extending the hike by another hour and going to Baita Segantini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The views along this path were my favourites throughout the hike, even beating the great summit views. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Baita G. Just follow the dirt road back to the car park. If you want to shorten the distance, follow the unofficial path, cutting off a few bends in the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_bring_on_a_hike_to_Monte_Castellaz\"><\/span><strong>What to bring on a hike to Monte Castellaz?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>While hiking boots aren\u2019t a must on this trail, I recommend shoes with a good grip.
